My friend Martha took a picture of a rose recently and I loved it. I decided to do a close up of this rose and try and get a really velvety feel to the petals. Normally I would have done a rose in oils but I felt like challenging myself with the acrylics to get this feel. So, as usually occurs, in my jammies late at night, the rose came to life.
