Landscapes

Okay, so I painted this week trying to break this blank canvas block I've had for a couple of weeks now. I figured landscapes would put me back into the groove and they did. I still have another one in the works, but here are the two I did this week.

This Painting is of Phalarope Lake and The Sisters, Oregon. Calm , cool, serene.

Now we visit Lake Chippewa in Hayward, Wisconsin. I hope to improve on technique with the next one as I seem to be a bit rusty. This one was painted to calm music, Enya. Perhaps I need to pick it up some with a little Hendrix or something!

Let The Painting Begin!

I have been to the blog sites of couple of artist friends and see that they too have been in the same boat as me, much desire to paint but no oomph. I have a canvas on the easel today and the choice for the painting has been made, a landscape I think. All my paints are laid out as well as the brushes I intend to use. So, tomorrow afternoon I begin. I will post a photo when I can in the next couple days.

First Gallery Showing

I am happy to announce my first gallery showing. I am the Visiting Artist for the month of May at the Huntsville Art League gallery, www.huntsvilleartleague.org .
We hung about fourteen or so paintings and Jim took a few photos so we could share this new experience with all of you. I gotta tell you I am pleased as punch to have this opportunity. Thank you to all those folks who made it happen.
Tomorrow is also my first show of the season so come on down to Main street Madison, Al. and visit. I'll have an extra chair just for you.
