Orange Flowers- NEW HOME

This little painting I did this past thursday evening and I had no idea who it was for or what, indeed, I was painting. It turned out to be just THE painting that a friend of mine had to have. She came over to visit and fell in love with it. I love just painting in the spirit. When that happens it's as though the recipient of the painting will show up when they show up and it will be just the right painting for them.
Enjoy Kathy, it was yours all along.

Mothers choice

My mother recently asked for a painting of flowers. So I did two so she could choose which one she likes best. This one is a redo on a smaller scale of the Botanical Gardens, 11"x14" oil on canvas. It is of the wildflowers in the children's garden at the Botanical Gardens.

This one is a little larger at 16"x20" and is an acrylic on canvas. It's a garden path. I like the way this one invites a walk into the garden.
Have fun choosing mom.

Signature Piece, Sold

This painting is a signature piece for Pick My Brains Art. It is the background image on my business cards and is the cover of the Book, Into The Light, by me, Angela True, a daily quote and thoughts for the day book ( unpublished so far).
I was thrilled when Ginger asked to buy this painting as I know that she felt about it the way that I did. I know she will enjoy this piece in her home.
It is one of the few "Soul Paintings" that I did some years back. Most of the soul paintings have gone to family and very close friends or remain in my private collection.
Ginger, enjoy!

Huntsville Arts Stroll

Well, it was hot and sticky at the Arts Stroll, but all the wonderful Huntsvillians came out and showed us all a good time. Here is a pic through my set up to see the musicians behind me. They were fabulous with jazzy sax and congos.

Here is a picture of two very wonderful folks just purchasing this painting for their home in Owens Cross Roads. They said that they saw the painting right off and knew it was the one, but continued on through the rest of the art show , only to come back at last and buy it. This painting is one of my favorites and I feel a thrill running through me for them to have it.
Jim was a champ, setting up in 100 degree heat! I really could not do these shows without him. We brought wet wash clothes that we kept dunking in the cooler water to refresh ourselves with.
I also sold a smaller painting to a friend at the Stroll. It was a garden painting that looks cool and inviting with it's Adirondack chair just waiting for you to relax in.
Next Stroll in Huntsville will be July 16. Perhaps it won't be as hot!??
See you there.

New Paintings at City Hall

This week I was busy switching out the paintings that I had down at Madison City Hall. I felt most honored that they asked me back again.

These are the paintings that are now currently hanging downtown. If you get a chance to go to the City Hall , have a look as there are also the most lovely paintings by other artists from the area too.

Daffodil Barn, New Home

This lovely painting was a commissioned piece and is now off to it's new home in California. It was done at my Fathers request and I hope he enjoys it for many years to come. It's the Daffodil Barn. I hope it gets there in time for his birthday! I'm sure it will.

Botanical Gardens - SOLD

This has been one of my favorite paintings and it sold today at Art on Main, downtown Madison. It went to a wonderful husband and wife team who live in the area.
It was a very lovely day with lots of friends and sunshine. I really enjoyed the camaraderie of all the local artist there.
We will be there again in august. Our next show will be downtown Huntsville at the Sidewalk Arts Stroll June 18th.
