on the easel-Finished!

It's finally finished. I showed you in the first photo, a close up of the background. You can see flecks and bits of gold here and there. That represents the universe from afar. When I looked at the specks close up and magnified, I see a star surrounded by space. that's this painting, an up close look at the Great beyond. All those specs enlarged would each be a different kind of star. Just like a close up of a snowflake, all are different. This one will hang in my home as part of my private collection to remind me how beautiful the stars are to look at as a whole but how unique and beautiful each one is individually, just like all of us. This painting will be called, "One in a Billion, You"
Well, we're getting there. Almost finished.
This is the star filled in with Gold metallic paint. Next will be some filigree inside each arm of the star.
This is the star outlined in three colors, first Red, then Burnt Umber, and finally a Gold metallic wax.
This is the newest painting on the easel. It's a geometric pattern on a very large canvas, 4'x4'.
This is a picture of the masking off of the design prior to painting.

This is a close-up of the background. It's a multi layered background. First I applied an overall layer of Raw Umber. Next I skim coated in Burnt Umber so the color wasn't solid but just sorta hopped and skipped over the base color. Next came a reddish copper colored wax to give it a nice coppery sheen and finally a skim coating of metallic Gold acrylic color.
I will post as I have more progress. I intend on working on this one this week so stay tuned and watch the progress. I hope we all will like the end result!
