New painting, New home

This lovely lady brought "Spring's First Flowers" to work. This is a picture of the new owner and the painting at her work place. I think this was a perfect selection for the office. Looks Great!

Scatter the Fire-Soul 20, Private collection

This is the soul painting that's been in my soul for many years now. It had a hard time coming out or being born.
It's the story of how the stars got into the heavens. The ancestor fathers are dancing around a nighttime fire scattering the embers and these embers waft gently upward to become the night time stars. The ancestor mothers sit nearby making sure that the fathers are doing it right! This painting was done to the song "Scatter the Fire" by Ladysmith Black Mambazo. In the natural, the night sky in this painting is a midnight blue going to a deep purple on the horizon. It just didn't photograph well.

Soul-2 at home

This Painting is a soul painting and was on loan to a meeting hall in town. It has recently found it's way back home to me. This was the second paiting I ever did and is titled, "Don't forget to remember who you are."
Soul paintings come from deep within or more exactly I hear them from deep within brought to me by that "still small voice". I did aproxamtely 19 or so of them, about 8 years ago, and then the voice got hard to hear for some reason. Just in the last month I can hear again and have started painting soul paintings again. They usually tell a story. I will post more of them as they arrive and are born again, so to speak.

Flowing Wheat-SOLD

While at Constitution Village( in Beautiful downtown Huntsville, Alabama,) at the Sidewalk Arts Stroll, these two showed up at our tent looking at the paintings. They went back and forth over a couple of different paintings until they finally decided on one. They were drawn to the green one, "Flowing Wheat". They were very kind letting us photograph them to show you their purchase. So, here they are posing for Jim ( my husband) holding "Flowing Wheat".
The weather looked very threatening all day but cleared up nicely for the show on Thursday. There were more artists this month then last and I hope that next months show will bring even more artists. There are three shows total for the Sidewalk Arts Stroll. Mayor Tommy Battle was there as he was last month and very accessible to the public. Come on out next month on August 20th if you haven't been able to attend yet.

Botanical Garden's Wildflowers-SOLD

So, it's off to Palatine, Il. with this . Seems that mother wants this one too. If you followed my earlier blog then you know that My mother had a choice between this painting and another. She chose the other, "Garden Path" painting. Now she wants this one as well. What mother wants, mother gets. She has done so much for me, I could never ever repay her for putting up with me all those troublesome years, for wiping all my tears, etc... you all know what I mean. Anyway mom, enjoy.

Grand Childrens art work.

Some of my grandkids are in town, Samantha and Erika did the artwork that we're posting today. Perhaps there will be more in the week to come. I don't think the toddler Joe, will paint though. He's more interested in pouring the water around then spreading paint with a brush. Yurika! That's it! I'll have him do a pouring painting outside!.
