Home from the Art Retreat

This painting is called The Rose and is 30"x40" acrylic on canvas. It was inspired by a beautiful bunch of roses that we(Michele at http://www.micheleleeart.com/ ) and I got for the hostess of the retreat, Ann.
I'm home from the Art Retreat and will show you a few of the paintings that I did while away. This painting is called Flowing Wheat and is 15"x30" acrylic on canvas. I just loved the movement of the wind across a wheat field and tried to capture that.

As we were in Fort Payne Alabama for this retreat, a trip to DeSoto Falls was in order. This painting is 10"x20" acrylic Impasto on canvas.
The sky has always mesmerized me and I most especially love it when the sunbeams are streaming through. This one is called Sunbeams and is 12"x16" acrylic on canvas board.
This was the first painting that I did while there to get me going. Very pastel and warm. This little girl is contemplating the breath she needs to take to blow this dandelion.
And lastly, this is The Redbud. A 16"x20" oil on canvas that I did just before leaving for the retreat but thought you might like to see it.
I am just full to popping from all the artist vibes that were overflowing this retreat. The hostest, Ann Hamilton ( www.artforartlovers.net ), was the most gracious of ladies that I have come to know. I do believe that I will return to her home for another trip with my artist friends.

What's up? Did you send me the redbud vibe or what. The first day..that is what I painted too. LOL Thanks Ang for the time together. That had to have been one of the best vacations and dives into art I have ever had.
Take care,
M

I like your new pic...it conveys the real you. Love the new paintings, too, especially the clouds. Dayum, you are good!

The Phyllis Peek is part of my maiden name...I will change this when I have my Women of God blog

Angie,
How fun to see on your blog site some of the paintings you created at the art retreat this week. I miss you and Michele so much already and my head is spinning with images of the two of you working in the studio. Also, my head is filled with painting inspirations. I have almost finished a painting of the roses Michele gave to me. I'm trying to stay away from the house "stuff" in order to get into the studio. But I have added some more touches to the decor, including iris in the new pottery Caddie in the window with the "secret medium" creation. I can't wait until our next adventure.
