Australian Spring

It's Spring in Australia and this painting reflects that. A nice bush flower I think. The reason behind the painting is a painting swap! That's right, I get a painting and I send a painting from a group I belong to called Sketching for fun. I an so excited about this project and it really inspired me to create this little painting. Now for me, this is quite small, but thats what the swapping perimeters were, 8"x10" only. It's all wrapped up and ready to post. I will show you all the painting I receive when I get it. The swap is over on halloween. The person I get a painting from lives overseas in Australia so the mails will take awhile. Keep ya posted!!!!..........

The Man in Black

This particular piece is already SOLD, but let me tell you about it anyway. I wanted to portray Mr.Cash in a light that showed both his strength and his loneliness. I  know that he found his soulmate in his wife June but i also know that he faced a lot of demons due to his chemical addictions. I believe it was in large part because of his June, and all her love for him, that he eventually got sober. His music is soo unique and one of a kind. no one, absolutely no one, can play his music like he did. it was entertaining and sometimes gut wrenching.
I may paint another partial profile of his face but at this time I'm on hold with that thought.
Just one other thing...Although I connect with many of his songs, I remember as a child that I especially liked , "a Boy named Sue" because my middle name is Sue.
What are some of your favorites by Mr.Cash?

Dizzy Gillespie

Dizzy makes an appearance!
He measures 20"x 20"x 1 1/2 ", acrylic on gallery wrap canvas. Another fabulous musician shows up in the studio! I also worked on him as an exhibition painting at the Monte Sano Arts Festival this past weekend, brought him home and finished him off. Now ready for a home......

This Week

Dear friends, colleagues and collectors.
I have been on vacation and have not posted in awhile. I went to Estes Park Co. and had a wonderful time hiking and painting until the floods came, at which time a fast retreat was made across the mountains to escape. All is well with me but I continue to pray for those folks who lost it all and who will have a long road ahead of them to restore any sense of normality in their lives.
I did pack out my paintings that I did while there, in the UPS which should arrive today sometime. I will post those paintings when they are photographed.
In other news, I will be one of 140 artists chosen for the Monte Sano Arts Festival this coming Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013. Please come on up the mountain to see all the beautiful works that will be there. Talk to the artists and have a great time! Oh, and buy some local art!
I will also have a piece on display in the Lodge at the Park. You may visit the Lodge while at the art festival too.
Until then, or until my next post.... ta ta
 artfully,
 Angela True

Newest Blues Player

Could't see myself doing those last few blues greats without throwing in Mr. Buddy Guy. My husband and a friend of his were shooting pool one night and and brought the topic up. They mentioned how Buddy always has either a polka dot shirt or polka dot guitar going on! So here he is in all his glory! @
24"x30" , framed in a floating frame made an inch wider all the way around.
Acrylic on canvas.
