Mother Theresa

While in a blank spot about what to paint, I asked my friend what I should paint. She replied simply," Mother Theresa", and so we have her here in oils on canvas 11"x14".
I couldn't stop thinking  about all the good and selfless tasks she did everyday of her life just to ease the life of another. I researched many poses, there are many photos of her. This one seem to me to capture the weariness her poor body felt yet it still holds the wisdom in her eyes for all she has seen.

Sunflowers

12"x24" acrylic on gallery wrap canvas. a showy turnout of sunflowers in an unusual array of colors. Always keeping it fresh and apealing. The background was done in a splatter effect. and layers of different color glazes. I like this one.

Uncle Albert

Textured Mixed Media of Albert Einstein measuring 20"x24", again on board. I'll tell you he's just a riot to look at ! A fav for any physics.

Seaside Cliff

This 10"x20" acrylic is painted on board. The colors are absolutely vibrant! Using again the highly pigmented Golden fluid acrylic this one seemed to carve itself out of the side of the cliff. I love diversity of sea colors.

Just Off The Easel

 Eve,16"x20", acrylic spray paint and highly pigmented acrylic paints on gallery wrap canvas. This Painting came about as a class example in spray paint backgrounds. After spraying the background the continued exercise was to see what the patterns in the paint brought forth in your imagination. What began to form for me was this woman. I love that she is plucking the fruit "earth" from the tree.

 This one I call "Long Tall Sally", and it measures 10"x30" and is an acrylic on canvas. This one brings joy to me and makes me smile through the dreary days of winter.

This last painting is another example of a sprayed background and an imagination gone wild . I felt the dream catcher first and painted that in. The horse and Man came simultaneously, and the woman last.

All of these paintings have been a bit of fun and a example of whats upstairs I suppose! Enjoy.

Been Busy in the Studio

The abstract Horses are 8"x8"

 This 30"x40" abstract is quite stunning and called Hallelujah, which is quite representative of the spiritual colors of my inner self. More my trade mark colors. Really lovely in person.

Oh, and this one folks! Wowzers, measures 24"x48" called Abstract number 25, and is almost too colorful to look directly into!

The Dancer is the final painting today that I'm posting. I saved this one for last because I wanted to tell you what was going on when this one was birthed. I was listening to tribal Native American Indian flutes and chants and was just taken over by something so strong, my hands literally shook for 30 minutes after the completion of the painting. It was truly one of those works that you can feel come through you rather than from you. This painting measures 24"x30", gallery wrap as are all of the paintings posted today.
