The Car Show

Meet the Jaguar. I did this car show series as a tongue in cheek play on the typical car show afternoon. Kinda cartoonish and playful.

This is a 1933 ford, well sort of... And below is George and Irma and their purple twisted Hudson. George and Irma are just kickin back relaxing in their lawn chairs. Fred is the other guy all by his lonesome. You can tell it's a southern town on a bright and sunny day, which, in all reality it was. All these paintings were inspired from photos taken at a car show in Athens Al.

On display at Madison City Hall

I am very excited to be chosen as one of the local artists to be displayed at Madison City Hall. This is two of the three paintings chosen, getting ready to load up the car.
Turqouise and Bronze was also chosen and is the largest painting on display at 3'x4'.

Second is one of my favorites, Bluebells on the Forrest Floor. As you can see I am surrounded by other beautiful art work, (mine is the big colorful one).

And lastly, Colorado Autumn was hung at the very entrance of the hall. The lady in charge of this project, Jeanne Steadman said that she was going to choose one of my pieces as they were very bright and would bring attention to the others as well. I am very grateful to Jeanne for choosing some of my art. Also very grateful to my friend Gregg for encouraging me to participate in this project to decorate City Hall. The paintings will be changed out quarterly.

New Paintings Coming Soon

Hi friends, sorry for not posting this past week, I have been busy though. I have a new car series coming that I hope to be done with this week. It will be called simply "The Car Show".
My husband and I just love going to car shows. He takes pictures of all the neat cars there. I will do my best to re-create the car show for you and all it's joy.

We're gonna call it done. I just love fall foliage and truly enjoyed painting this one in all the autumn brites. I will be busy next week on a new painting.

Been working on this painting tonight and I really am enjoying getting back into the swing of things. I was out for awhile, recovering from a little surgery. I will complete it and post again soon, I promise!

Letting Go Collaborative

Today my friend Lynn and I worked on a collaborative painting. It was sooo fun, we each used our bare hands to "let go" of those things that we were holding on to. We "released" our tightly held issues into the painting.
It was sticky and slippery but way cool. Lynn was the recipient of this painting and I hope that when it dries she will have a place to look at it and remember that we are not the ones in control.

Turquoise and Bronze

Been working on this very large abstract for two days now. I just love it. It's all textured and reflective in the light with a wealth of colors in the background. It is the largest painting I have done at 36"x48". I hope your monitor does it justice! Of course if you want to you may see it in person, for viewing call 256.233.3690
